Who is me? My name is Alan Willoughby and I have been doing amateur woodworking since the mid-80’s. I started out making some furniture for my home and eventually stopped altogether to spend more time on doing web sites. Last year I needed to get away from the computer so I went out to the shop to get things in order to start relaxing again. I bought a new table saw and started organizing. In November of 2012 I bought myself a small mini-lathe to try my hand at turning. I had never had so much fun with wood. I could throw away the tape measures, squares, and all the other tools you need to produce tight joints and square project.
I just upgraded to a bigger lathe and spend all my free time learning new skills and just relaxing. Sometimes it is a challenge but never stressful!
I am looking for a unique cremation urn for my husbands ashes. Your work is stunning. I see lots of things in your “recent projects” area – Especially like the one labeled “old world charm”. Where can I see more of your work? Do you do commission work?
Thank you for your comment / question. I am currently only selling at the Green Phoenix in Easton. I have people buy my work for cremation urns but I don’t specialize in them. Most of my pieces would probably be too small for urns. I don’t normally do commission work as I only work for myself and what pleases me – if others like them I am ahead of the game!
