I am drawn to the apple shapes and needed to incorporate this into one of my hybrid solid/segmented bowls. This one curves in at the top down into the recess where the top sits. I had it up to a high gloss with multiple coats of lacquer but decided that I wanted an organic apple – it’s just healthier, so I rubbed the last coat with some 1500 grit. Primarily walnut with ash and sycamore for the lighter pieces. About 9″ in diameter and 4.5″ tall — not quite the golden ratio but pleasing dimensions.
